so mastodon is kind of different to twitter, for instance getting followers and following people is much more "manual" and "explorative" compared to twitter recommending you accounts to follow.

to start, i can recommend to create an introduction post. you can kind of describe your personality, your interests, etc. there. and i recommend to read first other introduction posts to get a feel.
